Apparently Islamofascists in W Bengal want to conduct an agitation in favor of Triple Talaq while Moslem personal law board is arguing in its favor before Supreme Court.
What does these tell us is very clear. The fault is not just with communal Moslems but with seculars as well. That is even holocaust of partition did not teach any lessons. The same policies that were followed leading to partition continued to be followed even in the part of India that remains, after vivisection.
Needless to say, for it has been said several times all along so called secularism implemented in India is nothing but appeasement that existed before in pre-partitioned India but acquired a different label, secularism.
Everything connected with Islamofascism continued to be promoted by same ilk as before. Even before blood stains on streets of India were dry, Congress party led by Nehru allied itself with Moslem league that led drive to divide India which included direct action in Bengal.
Nehru prided himself as great expert on international affairs. Though he was contemporary to rise of Nazi Germany, which ended in partition of Germany, he could not bring himself to prevent same tragedy taking place in India, due to rise of Islamofascism which also led to even more gruesome partition. In fact he became signatory though un-elected for that purpose, to divide India.

We do not know whether MPLB is issuing implied threats to Muslim women or just outpouring of compassion to them that makes Moslem personal law board argue in favor of Triple Talaq and Polygamy before Supreme Court of India.
Apparently with regards Triple Talaq a mass agitation is planned on 18-20 Nov in W Bengal.
Hope people of W Bengal will be on guard, not caught unawares like they did in 16 Aug 46, Direct action day.
At least some are taking no chances.
We do not know her name, but surely Bankim Chandra Chatopadhyaya would have called her Durga.
Let us hope no violence results from attempts to whip up communal frenzy by Islamofascists using issues like Triple Talaq or Polygamy.
Very existence of these aberrations or anomalies of law, in India even after 69 years is a blot, and any agitation in favor of them is reactionary reflecting a mindset which played havoc on India. It is high time they should go.
Arguments in their favor, even agitations notwithstanding once Govt. takes firm stand and abolishes them which Constitution has mandated when it called for enacting Uniform Civil Law which is yet to be implemented, then like what happened with liberation of Hyderabad, the attempts of vested interests, obscurantists to derail fairness and freedom to Muslim Indian women will wither away like night before rising sun in the morning.

Wonder if such a result has ever been seen before? …At least not in my living memory.
Dated Oct.09th, 2016, the Indian Express published results of one of its regular Daily Public Opinion Polls, asked at least 24 hours in advance, "Do you agree with the Centre's decision to oppose the practice of triple talaq in the Supreme Court ?"……
Result: A/ Yes-100%….B/ No- 0%….C/ Cant say - 0%.
Wow!…100%-YES. What a unanimity!!. it only showed that the whole nation, every man and woman, from every faith and religion, agreed 100% that the practice of the Triple-Talaq be discarded in India.
The need for such a question arose when on 7th Oct. the government filed the Committee Report of the Law Commission with the Supreme Court of India, making it clear that such practices are not integral to Islam and should be done away with. The committee, under the supreme court purview, was constituted to look into the aspects of personal laws relating to marriage, divorce and custody, prevalent in various religious minorities including Muslims. Basically, the Issues and their implications, were:
A...Talaq-e-Bidat: Instantaneous Utterance Of Talaq, Talaq, Talaq, (3 Times), And The Woman Is Divorced, Given Up.
B... Nikah Halala : Remarriage Of The Woman With The Same Divorced Husband, for any reasons, possible Only If She first Consummates marriage with another Man before remarrying the husband who had discarded her; and
C… Polygamy: Marrying many women, Even Upto 4, irrespective of the wishes of the married woman, living along.
Obviously, all the three issues are gender-centric and constitutional position has to be deciphered by the highest court in india, under the provisions of the Constitution of India. In recent years, many Muslim women have raised the issue with the judiciary, and the Supreme Court is hearing atleast three petitions against the Triple-Talaq, the trigger for the current SC controversy. Undoubtedly, the Triple-Talaq represents the worst excesses of an archaic system tilted heavily against women. No wonder the opinion poll got 100% readers supporting the move of the Modi Government.
Ever since the Shah Bano case, over 30 years ago, the successive governments never dared to initiate any changes for fear of upsetting crucial vote banks, and, knowing the way our politicians play their game, to safeguard their vested interests, a storm was in the making.
And, lo and behold, here comes the Bombshell from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, headlining:
"MODI HAS TRIGGERED INTERNAL WAR OVER UNIFORM CIVIL CODE: MUSLIM LAW BOARD"/Hindustan Times-14OCT/ The All India Muslim Personal Law Board said that the central government was creating an "internal war" by trying to scrap islamic personal laws, reigniting the debate around one of india's most contentious issues. it further said that it will boycott a questionnaire circulated by the union law commission that asked for public opinion on a Uniform Civil Code and said India's plurality of cultures had to be respected.
AIMPLB is trying not to let the issue come under judicial purview, supported by several Opposition parties who were simply waiting to jump in for showing their solidarity hoping to regain their lost power and prestige, through the vote-bank politics.
It is worth mentioning that at least 22 other nations, including our neighbouring Muslim countries, such as, Pakistan, Bangladesh, besides Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran , etc. etc. have already scrapped these personal laws, and many an intellectuals are openly saying that the holy Koran and Hadeeth do not support these anti-women issues, and that the interpretations by certain mullahs and maulvis are purely self-serving, simply out to let the chaos continue.
in any case, it is worth mentioning that the Indian Express, for a change, carried the same question, in their next day's issue also , i.e. on 10th Oct: "Do you agree with the center's decision to oppose the practice of triple talaq in the SC? "
The results were slightly different:
A/Yes - 85% …..B/ No - 15%…..C/ Can't say - zero %.?
But now, when the opposition leaders are coming out openly standing by the AIMPLB, screaming in the name of plurality, unity and above all, the secularism, it would be worth watching how the public opinion shifts?!

Pls allow Muslims of India to follow the triple talaaq system as prescribed by sharia
and just pass a law that all Muslim criminals will be punished according to law of sharia.
All Muslims arrested will not be prosecuted under Indian penal code but they will be tried by a sharia court separately conceived by state and central govt. Each state each city each district should have a sharia law centre that's a court with its head judge appointed by the concerned state. All Muslims arrested for any crime should be presented in such courts and punished according to sharia at that very moment of crime without any delay e.g.
a rapist should be buried half in the mud and stoned by public to death.
A thief should have his hands amputated there on the crime scene itself.
A murderer should be hanged publicly on a tree. and henceforth.
All Muslim bank accounts should be made interest free that's they should not receive any interest on deposits according to sharia.
All hujj subsidies should be abolished according to sharia.
All muslim men should be debarred from using alcohol and tobacco products.
They should not be allowed in music concerts, theatres and debarred from any means of recreation or entertainment.
Why follow sharia with a half heart?
Let's make them follow it with full support.
Those who don't follow sharia should be lashed 100 times and then let off.
Of course Hindus, Christians, Buddhists can follow the rule of land as we don't have any problem with our marriage act or any other law.

यह कैसी प्रथा है कि फोन पर, ई-मेल से, एसएमएस से या पत्र से भी तीन बार तलाक-तलाक-तलाक कह देने भर से संबंध खत्म कर लिया जाता है। मुस्लिम महिला को इसमें समानता का अधिकार कहाँ है? उसके पास तो अपना पक्ष रखने का अवसर भी नहीं है। इस कुरीति का समर्थन करने के लिए यह कहना कि यदि पुरुष के पास तीन तलाक का अधिकार नहीं होगा, तब वह महिला से छुटकारा पाने के लिए उसकी हत्या कर देगा। इसलिए तीन तलाक महिलाओं के हक में है, क्योंकि इससे उनका जीवन सुरक्षित होता है। यह कठमुल्लापन नहीं, तो क्या है?

TRIPLE TALAQ
'Triple talaq' is a customary practice prevalent among Muslims that dissolves a marriage when the husband says the word 'talaq' thrice. The custom is criticised for being unilateral and biased against women, and is banned in 22 countries of the world. It has been challenged in the Supreme Court and the Centre has formally opposed the practice, saying it is against the principle of gender equality. Several women's rights groups have also spoken out against the practice and its ill effects, especially on Muslim women. On the other hand, the Muslim Law Board has consistently said that triple talaq is a 'personal law' and thus, cannot be modified by the Centre. The issue has given rise to a heated debate on the need for a Uniform Civil Code in India.

This is one of tragedies independent India is made to implement in spite of partition. Though India on one hand is said to be secular, a word subsequently rammed into preamble of Constitution during the dark days of emergency by a superannuated parliament, yet India at the same time also coerced to follow obscurantist medieval Shariat laws but very selectively. Because only civil laws like Triple Talaq where male is freed from any obligation to pay alimony, along with polygamy for Muslims which is a substantial section of population of India are implemented while in case of criminal penalties benign, benevolent Indian Penal Code is followed for every section, Hindu, Muslim or Christian etc fair and equal. So unlike in S Arabia, which enforces all Shariat Codes strictly, there are no amputation of limbs or cutting of heads as penalties for Muslim citizens in India.
Why this dichotomy even with regards of civil laws to promote separatism despite partition? The reason is simple, those who framed such discrimination to perpetuate separatism which as you know played havoc inflicting holocaust of partition on India. were not motivated by any thing than to keep substantial section of humanity in India which is second largest in number of Muslims in the world, perpetually backward, poor so they can throw some crumbs to get their votes, this is called Vote Bank Politics. In this nefarious scheme politicians branding themselves as secular on one hand and fanatic elements among Mohammedans on the other are in cahoots with each other. Providing such useless sops, polygamy which by the way is not allowed even in Pakistan, I understand, or triple talaq sans alimony, state pays it via Wakf boards, is a sure formula to keep large sections of Muslims of India poor and miserable, especially affecting women and girls like in the story from Times of India. Only beneficiaries of this charade of separatism despite Constitutional mandate to enact uniform civil code are mentioned already, crooked seculars on one hand and obscurantist but influential among Muslims of India who have no interest in seeing their community and people to come up.
If any further proof is required in this regard all one has to do is look at Pakistan which was split from India precisely because those who refused to live as equals with Hindus insisted on partition, otherwise they said Muslims will be in danger in Hindu majority India.
Were they? The Muslim population burgeoned, trebled in India since 1947 when one country was split to three pieces while at the same time cleansing of millions of Hindus took place from both wings of Pakistan. In spite of such thorough process to keep Muslims safe from Hindus, what is the result today after 70 years of such practice? By any measure or the standard, the status of common man, Muslim in Pakistan is poorer, his interest nay existence is subservient to its army's dominance in every part of life and society. In contrast in every worthwhile endeavor, attaining every high post of office or in education if not obstructed by obscurantists, Muslim Indian is far better off.
Thus in this regard too fraudulent two nation theory is an utter failure. So is the case with pseudo-secularism in India. Like Berlin wall the corrupt made separatist walls should go away from India which then can rise to new heights as one people and one nation.

Trapped among Allah, Army and America, these two failing states pose a much graver threat to global security than the Middle East. With a Taliban's vision of Islamic law in Afghanistan, children begin their education with "A for Allah, J for Jihad". Davis (2002, p. 90) quoted from a fourth-grade mathematics textbook, "The speed of a Kalashnikov bullet is 800 meters per second. If a Russian is at a distance of 3200 meters from a mujahid, and that mujahid aims at the Russian's head, calculate how many seconds it will take for the bullet to strike the Russian in the forehead?" Primary and secondary education in Afghanistan is strongly dominated by an interpretation of Islam that teaches intolerance and hatred. No doubt, with such a teaching system, Madrassahs provide a perfect breeding ground for transnational terrorists.
In the Madrassah, there are, as Andrew Coulson commented (cited Riaz, 2008, p. 21), "spartan classrooms in which children rocked back and forth reciting passages from the Koran" and "common to most of these schools … [are] students' and teachers' unwavering support for Osama bin Laden, and their hostility toward the West, Jews, Hindus, and particularly the United States". Extreme poverty works as a catalyst. Afghanistan boasts some of the worst living conditions and statistics ever recorded while the warlords are rolling in millions of dollars. After the Soviet withdrawal, the interim government was so poor that many ministers even did not have desks and chairs or even sufficient pens (unbelievable but true) let alone having a building to call their own. Some of them ran their office in discarded tents, normally used for beer garden festivals (Rashid, 2008, pp. 129, 140). Easily preventable epidemics such as measles, flu, and even diarrhea kills thousands of people every month, and fifteen thousand women dies every month from pregnancy-related illness. Because of short life-expectancy, Afghanistan has the youngest population in the world with 57 percent under the age of 18. Multiple generations of the adults had not had any education and had known only war.
The Taliban has no concern for the public, nor any sense of responsibly towards them. UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi commented (Rashid, 2001, p. 207), "We are dealing here with a failed state which looks like an infected wound. You don't even know where to start cleaning it". A good education system provides a stepping-stone for the future. The education system of Afghanistan and Pakistan is so downgraded that the ministry cannot even distinguish between doctrination and education. Snook (1972, p. 75) defines doctrination as, "the teaching of any subject matter that it be believed regardless of evidence". Wright (2004, p. 173) defines education as a process where students "are encouraged to question the established the social and personal goals of society by engaging with substantial meta-critical questions". Simply speaking, this is a debate between intention and action.
Awareness begins with education, not indoctrination. If the teacher has himself been indoctrinated, his intention will be same as that of any good educator – to pass on the 'truth' in any reasonable manner. The Saudis will not allow Pakistan to prosper. The fate of Pakistan matters greatly to the Saudis because, in addition to nearly bordering on the Persian Gulf, it gives them constant supply of laborers and soldiers. For that purpose, the Pakistanis must remain in deep poverty. King Khalid, the ruler of Saudi Arabia, had made a big promise to Pakistan when he was happy with the Islamization programme in Pakistan. The political promise was "Saudi gold coffers will be open to Pakistan once it has an Islamic government" (Pipes, 2002, p. 311).
Today Pakistan is one of the world's least developed nations – the golden promise of Saudi is long forgotten. In addition, the civil war has left the country in a fragile state. Islamic indoctrination served to as a means to enhance the attraction of poor Pakistanis as laborers for the sheikdom. Today, Pakistan is beyond the point of no return, and we should not forget that it is a nuclear weapons state with a very bad record of proliferation. Majority of Muslims living in Western Europe is of immigrant origin – most of them are the result of economic migration of 1960s and 1970s. Contrary to expectations that Muslim immigrants would successfully assimilate, they are reaffirming their Islamic identity as a new political identification, and some of them turn to terrorism against their adopted country. The social problems that Western Muslims face today are ultimately complex, and this problem will worsen with time. What is their responsibility / accountability towards the next generations? If present generation Muslims want to tackle this problem, they have to act today.
This problem cannot be solved by putting more trust on Allah. Allah is a failed hypothesis. There is neither intellectual solidarity nor an ethical commitment towards the future generations. Muslims say that they love death more than the Infidels love life. Yes, it's going to happen; hostility and hatred toward Infidels cannot go on unabated. When the infidels will join hands and take a firm stand against Islam, the angel of death will haunt the Muslim children every single night – slowly and painfully – and every morning the Muslim children will wake up in bed, knowing he would have to die again later, every moment of every night for the rest of their lives. That is his greatest curse and his eternal punishment for following an imposture and psychopath prophet who owes his greatness to his followers ruin. Maria Alam Umar is a social activist in Aligarh. She represents the brave new voice of Muslim women fighting to abolish the medieval practice of triple talaq. Unafraid of the backlash from conservative Islamic clergy, Maria says not only should triple talaq be abolished but the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) should be abolished as well for its "pro-male stand on almost every aspect of Muslim life." Shazia Siddiqui is an entrepreneur. Also from Aligarh, she is as forthright as Maria Umar about gender reform in Islam: "The practice is discriminatory and should be abolished. How can someone have the right to end a marriage and ruin a woman's life by uttering three words.
In fact, some Islamic countries have banned the practice of triple talaq." Women like Maria Umar and Shazia Siddiqui are leading a quiet revolution to reform Islamic law. Their initial battle is against triple talaq. But other women are seeking reforms across a range of social and religious issues, including the right of women to pray unfettered in shrines, cutting across religions, like the Haji Ali dargah and the Sabarimala temple. Voices like Maria Umar's and Shazia Siddiqui's have in the past been drowned out by the clergy. With the Indian government last Friday (October 7, 2016) for the first time filing an affidavit in the Supreme Court calling for an end to triple talaq, those voices will now gain strength and support. Here's what the government's affidavit says: "Women must be equal participants in the development and advancement of the world's largest democracy and any practice (triple talaq and polygamy) which denudes the status of a citizen of India merely by virtue of the religion she happens to profess is an impediment to that larger goal. "Even theocratic states have undergone reform in this area of law and therefore in a secular republic like India, there is no reason to deny the rights available under the Constitution.
The fact that Muslim countries where Islam is the State Religion have undergone extensive reforms goes to establish that the practices in question cannot be regarded as integral to practices of Islam. "Secularlism being a hallmark of Indian democracy, no part of its citizenry ought to be denied access to fundamental rights, much less can a section of secular society be worse off than its counterparts in theocratic countries, many of which have undergone reform. Even though it may be true that only some women are directly and actually affected by the practices of triple talaq and polygamy, the fact remains that every woman to whom the law applies lives under the threat, fear or prospect of being subjected to these practices, which in turn impacts her status and her right to live with confidence and dignity "The practice of polygamy was regarded as progressive and pathbreaking centuries ago but with the evolution of women and the principle of gender justice, these required serious reconsideration. Even an affidavit by the Muslim Personal Law Board has referred to those practices as 'undesirable', which cannot be elevated to essential religious practice, much less one that forms the substratum of religion."
The Supreme Court will hear the matter early next week. A secular UCC In a perverse definition of secularism, India since Independence has allowed each religion to practise its own personal law rather than follow a genuinely secular Uniform Civil Code (UCC). In matters of marriage, divorce, maintenance, adoption and succession, different religious personal laws apply. Hindu personal law has seen significant reform since the 1950s – though more reform is needed in financial and tax constructs such as the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) and much else. But it is Muslim personal law that remains stuck in a pre-Quranic era. As Maria Alam Umar points out, the Quran actually gives Muslim women equal rights, including divorcing a husband (khulla). The Muslim Personal Law Board's response to the Supreme Court in its affidavit reveals the regressive mindset that governs this atavistic body: "If there develops serious discord between the couple, and the husband does not at all want to live with her, legal compulsions of time-consuming separation proceedings and expenses may deter him from taking the legal course. In such instances, he may resort to illegal, criminal ways of murdering or burning her alive." (Emphasis mine.) Coincidentally, on the same day (October 7) that the government filed its affidavit against triple talaq in the Supreme Court, the Law Commission sought the public's views on triple talaq and a uniform civil code over the next 45 days. Muslim organisations – and even some Hindu bodies – have long opposed UCC.
Successive governments in India have treated UCC like a tinderbox that could blow up in their face. Even as the Law Commission seeks a public debate on UCC, Muslim clerics have warned of riots should UCC be implemented. The government should pay no heed to such threats. The clergy has declining support in the Muslim community which recognises that the path to jobs and prosperity runs through modern education, not madrasas. On October 7, again coincidentally, the Supreme Court dealt with another sensitive issue: the entry of women into the inner sanctum of the Haji Ali dargah in Mumbai. It advised the Haji Ali Dargah Trust to "take a progressive stand. Nothing regressive should be suggested." The Trust told the court it would indeed take a progressive stand. Extending the interim stay on the Bombay High Court order allowing women to enter the inner sanctum, the Supreme Court will consider the Haji Ali Dargah Trust's "progressive" response on October 17.
Like Maria Alam Umar and Shazia Suiddiqui, another brave woman, Noorjehan Safia Niaz, is leading the campaign for gender equality in the Haji Ali dargah. Co-founder of the Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan which petitioned the Bombay High Court against the Haji Ali Dargah Trust's ban on women entering the inner sanctum, Noorjehan says implacably: "We are against the ban on women's entry to the shrine's sanctum sanctorum. We hope by progressive stand the Haji Ali Trust means it will restore the rights of women's entry to the spot inside the tomb, where only men are allowed." Like the abolition of triple talaq, the right of women to worship in a place of worship – mosque, dargah, temple or church – must be absolute.

IIT scientist open letter to PM Modi.

Dear Shri Narendra Modi
Namaskar.
I am a Scientist from IIT Bombay. I have analyzed Uniform Civil Code and consequences of its implementation in light of history of India and current situation. I want to share with you what my brain concludes.
It concludes that any delay in implementation of Uniform Civil Code is suicidal for India. It says that anyone who is opposing Uniform Civil Code for Sharia laws is a potential ISIS recruit. Because here is what a Sharia lover in India enjoys/wants to enjoy:
1. Non-believers will burn in hell. That is why you will never see a Moulvi or Jihadi use Marhoom for a dead Non-Muslim.
2. Non-believers have lesser rights than believers.
3. Non-believers must be killed or attacked or harmed or taxed or curbed or fooled depending upon whether you are in majority or minority.
4. Non-believers are not allowed to enter city of Mecca because they are impure.
5. Non-believers, when in majority, should change their laws according to Sharia Laws to accommodate Muslims. That you see in India.
6. Non-believers, when in minority, should submit to Sharia Laws or else face wrath. That you see in Saudi or Pakistan.
7. Non-believers don't have right to propagate their religions in believers' land. However believers should have all rights to preach, propagate, convert others to their faith.
8. Women can be married in multiple numbers- 2, 3 and 4.
9. Girl of any age- 6 years or 9 years is fit to marry a 20/30/55 years old pervert.
10. Women can be made sex-slaves.
11. Women should cover themselves from top to toe.
12. Women can be divorced by husband unilaterally by simply saying "Talaq Talaq Talaq".
13. A divorced woman can be reunited with husband only after marrying another man, consummating marriage with him and then getting divorced by him if he wishes to. This is called Halala.
14. After divorce, child(ren) will go to father. They will be with mother only if they need breastfeeding. The day they can survive without mother's milk, they will have to relocate to father.
15. Husband can beat wife.
16. Woman's testimony is half of that of a man.
17. Women can't pray during their periods.
18. Non-believing women can be abducted, raped and sold after declaring Jihad.
19. Religion is above nation.
20. Vande Mataram is Haram.
21. Homosexuals must be killed.
22. Atheists must be killed.
23. Apostate must be killed.
24. Roads should be blocked for prayers.
25. Airports and other public places should have special worship places for Muslims.
26. All humans should accept Islam.
… and the list is endless.
I firmly believe that while we have developed sophisticated weapons to combat terrorists who are blowing up people in our cities in random attacks or beheading our men and raping our women, not a single attempt has been made to combat hate which is mother of terrorism. And the roots of terror,1947 partition and opposition of UCC are same.
Know that with every passing minute without UCC, a woman somewhere in Muzaffarnagar is separated from her child after being kicked out of marriage and home because Biryani last night wasn't tasty enough. More than 90 million Muslim women live in fear of getting divorced or becoming 2nd/3rd/4th wife of husband. That fear and feeling of oppression in mother's mind are being transmitted to the next generations with genes. And it is this fear and insecurity in mother's mind that reflects in poor health, educational, economic, social and law & order issues in Muslim youth.

If UCC is not implemented firmly right now, we will not be able to stop another 1947. Because Mantra of 1947 partition was 'we are different from you'. And Mantra of Sharia/Personal law is again same- 'we are different from you'. We will be fools to believe that we will get different results this time despite using same Mantra.
You were given mandate for UCC. So there is no need for public referendum/opinion again in my opinion. Please implement UCC and deploy forces in 86 'sensitive' districts. Get fast track courts established for violators for setting examples.
When you stand for truth, numbers don't count.
