Subject: Announcement of CBEC's June 2011 Newsletter
Dear Colleagues,
The June 2011 issue of Bioethics Links, the CBEC newsletter, is now available at the following link: www.siut.org/bioethics/newsletter2011.html
This edition features an article by Ms. Asma Jehangir, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, entitled "The Women's Movement in Pakistan: Promoting a Different Kind of Value." It consists of excerpts from her plenary talk at CBEC's international seminar on "Muslim Women: Through the Lens of History, Religion, Law and Society," held in March 14-17 this year. Dr. Farhat Moazam also offers her thoughts about this seminar in her article "Post-seminar Reflections: Bioethics and Religion?" This issue also contains brief reports on a Research Ethics Workshop held at Saidu Sharif, Swat by Dr. Aamir Jafarey, and a followup on the metamorphosis of a flood relief camp assisted by CBEC faculty in Karachi, by Ms. Anika Khan.
Happy Reading!
