[GHHF & BSO] Baba Ramdev’s Satyagraha, NRIs to Join the movement, 13 Cities in USA conducting meetings and observing Fast on June 4th.
“What India needs especially at this moment is the aggressive virtues, the spirit of soaring idealism, bold creation, fearless resistance, courageous attack..... We need to cultivate another training and temperament, another habit of mind. We would apply to the present situation the vigorous motto of Danton, that what we need, what we should learn above all things is to dare and again to dare and still to dare.' Sri Aurobindo
Baba Ramdev is the proud son of Bharat dedicated his life to improve the physical and spiritual health of the motherland. He is spearheading the movement to instill the dharmic virtues in the nation, create pride among people, re-establish the grandeur of sanatana dharma, infuse spiritualism, cultivate fearlessness, and impart the greatness of Vedic culture. To accomplish these ideals, he is determined to root out the rampant corruption that has permeated the whole nation. It is plaguing, strangling, suffocating, blunting, and stunting the growth of the nation depriving people of their opportunity to earn an honest living and to show their skills and talents to the fullest. Nation has to rise up to dare and again dare and still to dare to meet the challenge.
To bring back the glory of Bharat, Baba Ramdev launched “Satyagraha Against Corruption.” He announced that he would conduct SATYGRAHA - start fast up to death - from June 4 at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. He is demanding that the Central government recover black money stashed away in foreign countries by politicians and declare it as public property. Ramdev is also demanding a ban on high denomination currency notes, which he says, is a reason for rampant corruption. He also wants the corrupt to be sentenced to death.
CALL TO BE COUNTEDVolunteers launched a toll-free landline number on May 9. A missed call from any mobile number on the toll free number – 0223308112 – will register the number in their database and updates of the campaign will be sent through text messages.
“Within a week of activating the toll-free number, nearly one crore people have given a missed call. Around 1.5 lakh people have vowed to fast with Baba Ramdev in Delhi,” said Raman Tiwari, a volunteer.

What are his demands?1) Lokpal Bill
Determined to continue the fight against corruption, Ramdev said a strong Lokpal Bill should be enacted by August this year, as assured by the central government after a hunger strike by Hazare in New Delhi last month.
Apart from the demand that the Lok Pal should have the power to take action against all those in constitutional positions (including the PM and the Chief Justice, an issue on which even the Lok Pal Bill joint drafting committee has wide differences), Ramdev has asked that an ordinary citizen be vested with the right to lodge police cases against any person in power, if he has evidence against that person for corruption.
He has demanded the death penalty and life imprisonment for people guilty of hoarding money through corruption.
2) Stashed Money
Speaking at length about his campaign “Satyagaraha Against Corruption,” that started on the November 14 last year, Ramdev mentioned that around 18 trillion dollars (according to estimates) stored in Swiss banks belong to people in Asian countries and pre-dominantly Indians. "These estimates are made by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and also supported by International Monetary Fund (IMF). If all this money is declared as the property of the Indian Government, then the suffering economy of the country would be supported and the Gross Domestic Production (GDP) growth would be greater than that of China," he said.Speaking to reporters here, Ramdev demanded that the names of all foreign bank account holders should be made public and high denomination currency notes like of
500 and
1,000 be banned.
"Despite knowledge about it, the central government has not taken any concrete decision on the issue of black money plaguing the country," Ramdev said.3) Land Acquisition Act
The third demand in his three-pointer action plan is to abolish laws that the Britishers had enacted and India still follows. "Why is it that we need the Land Acquisition Act? It is the reason so many farmers are committing suicide. Main ek krushi putra hoon - I know what the land means to the farmers."
4) Big Denomination Money
Baba Ramdev launched his tirade against big denomination money (notes higher than Rs 100). He mentioned that the original purpose of having higher denominations was to help Britishers carry cash from India to Britain. He strongly feels that the higher denomination notes result in the circulation of black money. He said in a country where majority of the population doesn't have more than Rs 20 to spend in a day, a 500 or 1,000 rupee note was unnecessary.
