CHANDIGARH: The Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Chandigarh, has said the CD reportedly containing a conversation involving senior advocate and member of Lokpal Bill Drafting committee, Shanti Bhushan, Amar Singh and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav was doctored.
The latest report on the controversial CD contradicts the earlier report of the CFSL, Delhi that claimed there was no tampering and it didn't show abrupt changes in speech signals.
Highly placed sources at the Chandigarh CFSL said it had evidence of "cut and paste" of excerpts of conversation. A senior official at the Chandigarh CFSL said its report was submitted to the Special Cell of Delhi Police four days ago through a special messenger.
Chandigarh CFSL director Dr S K Shukla refused to make any comment on the findings, but he didn't deny reports about the difference in the Delhi and Chandigarh findings.
Senior scientist S K Jain, who is currently in Hyderabad attending a forensic workshop, conducted the voice analyst test of the CD in Chandigarh.
Shanti Bhushan has dragged Amar Singh in the Supreme Court over the CD row. Bhushan had filed a contempt petition in the SC on April 18.
The investigation was assigned to the Special Cell of Delhi Police and the CD was sent to the Chandigarh CFSL for a second opinion on May 3.
The latest finding has strengthened the claims of Shanti Bhushan and his son Prashant Bhushan that a private lab in Hyderabad and a US-based expert found the CD doctored.
