If these are true and they have only journalism integrity in mind, why would they not spend efforts exposing Sonia Gandhi and the other crooks.  They use all their energies with perhaps paid money to spread propaganda.   Sonia poses greatest threat to India.  In her rush to enthrone her ill-qualified and drug-addict son on the country, living with a foreign woman, this animal is breaking every law and looting the nation to it hilt.  If these guys have any courage, let us see how they would expose them like Dr. Swamy is doing.

Having said that, if there are shortcomings in Baba Ramadev and Divya Yoga Center, that needs to be addressed.   The citizenship issue of Balakrishna was already settled.    But using a microscope view for shortcomings of opponents and magnifying them while at the same time gagging the voice on the massive crimes is the ploy of propagandists.   It is nothing new.

The same Tehelka has reported about Godhra riots but makes no mention of train burning or makes any mention of Kashmiri Hindus living as refugees in squalid camps for 18 years.  India's journalism is for most part is propaganda where truth and untruth are mixed to project a view.

Regards,
Satya

Dear All,

These are true (there seems to be serious charges of encroachment, tax
evasion, etc.). Are these true????

Baba Ramdev – Facts

http://www.tehelka.com/story_main49.asp?filename=Ne180611Coverstory2.asp

(1) His bogus claims of having treatment for any disease including
aids, cancer etc. just to cheat followers. (In one such claims he says
how polycystic ovaries is a very serious, alarming medical condition
for which there is no cure in medical science. The truth is it is
treatable.)

(2) His solution of yoga as the solution for all the problems (just as
Sri Sri claims that breathing is the solution to all issues) is just
his way of marketing yoga.

(3) He entered into a deal with the govt before starting his fast,
keeping his followers unaware. A clean case of cheating.

(4) His childish response to the police intervention by running away
in churidar, resulted in a
paralysed Rajbala, injured lot many. A leader should be with those who
have come in solidarity. Here the leader ran away like a coward.

(5) His attempt to get the centre stage which he failed to get during
anna's fast damaged the
movement. Instead of being in unity, now the camp is slip open.

(6) Have to see who is behind his back. VHP/RSS/Ridhambara shows his
ideology. VHP/RSS would come stronger after a successful movement. It
happened in the past, so should be a lesson for the future.

(7) Patanjali Yogpeeth is worth over Rs 1,100 crore is a thriving MNC.
There are 34 firms
incorporated between 2006-11, dealing in medicine, construction, real
estate and energy. A sanyasi is someone who is supposed to have
renounced material belongings/here Ramdev is doing real estate.

(8) Swami Shankar Dev's mysterious disappearance in 2007, with Swami
Hath Yogi of Haridwar says that there should be a CBI inquiry.

(9) Land ceiling in Uttarkhand broken for Ramdev - a policy change for
an individual for his personal gains. Ramdev trying to convert the 800
bighas in Mustafabad into industrial land (which was bought for low
rates. The same baba is raising the land aquisition demand).

(10) The administration is no doubt paralysed by Ramdev's high-level
connections, proved by his confabulations with Sushma Swaraj and Chief
Minister Nishank.

(11) AMID VARIOUS allegations suggesting landgrab and undervaluation
of properties, a shocker came to Patanjali Ayurveda Limited On 2
August 2010, when the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Haridwar, found
the trust guilty of evading stamp duty to the tune of several lakh
rupees. The SDM found that 16 properties purchased by Patanjali
Ayurveda Limited were grossly undervalued to reduce the stamp duty
paid. The SDM asked Balkrishna to not only pay the balance Rs 9 lakh
stamp duty but also a penalty of Rs 5 lakh. Patanjali Ayurveda had
purchased these properties right next to the National
Highway but then tried to undervalue it.

(12) a former pradhan AS Chauhan and Charan Singh complained that
about 200 bighas, which belonged to the village panchayat in
Aurangabad, had been illegally occupied by Ramdev, who had purchased
600 bighas from one Fareed Khan and constructed a Yoga Gram. Here,
air-conditioned cottages by the name of Tapasvi and Mahirsi were built
and people were charged thousands of rupees to stay there and get
'purification'.

(13) The report of SDM Harveer Singh "In the disputed area, an effort
was being made to extend the area of Yoga Gram by constructing a wall
in the dry riverbed. When we reached there, it was under construction
and we forced them to stop. Apart from this, a path used by Aurangabad
villagers to go to the jungle after crossing the river has also been
blocked. When asked about the encroachment, the authorities of Yoga
Gram told the SDM that the area was barricaded because of the fear of
wild animals and since the area is so vast, we didn't know that we had
encroached upon the government land."

(14) ACHARYA BALAKRISHNA is head of all the medical institutions run
by Divya Yog Mandir (Trust). He holds the position of managing
director in five companies, director in 27 companies and is an
additional director in two others.

(15) SWAMI MUKTANAND actively participates in the production of
medicines at Divya Pharmacy, a unit of Divya Yog Mandir. He
specialises in the preparation of chyawanprash and amrit rasayan.
Swami Muktanand is on the board of 10 companies as a director and is
an additional director in another firm.

(16) OUT OF these 34 companies, Patanjali Ayurveda Limited is the
largest concern with a paid up capital of 41 crore. It was this
company, set up in 2006, which donated 10 lakh to the BJP during the
2009 Lok Sabha election. Balkrishna later added that the company also
donated a similar amount to the Congress.

(17) THE AYURVEDIC products made by the company are sold through a website
(www.healthservices.divyayoga- .com), which includes 32 packages to
tackle various diseases, some of which even the doctors don't have a
cure for. The website also sells around 225 Ayurvedic medicines,
herbal products, books VCDs, DVDs, etc.

(18) ONE CAN become a 'dignified' member of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust
by paying Rs 51,000. If you pay Rs 21,000, you can become a
'respected' member. For a corporate membership, one has to shell out
Rs 11 lakh. Repeated requests by TEHELKA for a copy of the donor list
were turned down by the trust.

(19) THE TRUST has refused to disclose its worth or turnover of its
companies. In the past, Ramdev has claimed that his trust is worth Rs
1,100 crore.

(20) The SDM also wrote; "As of now, 2.982 hectares of government land
has been encroached upon by the Yoga Gram. Not only this, according to
the Revenue Department, the land on which the Yoga Gram is established
is not registered in the name of Yoga Gram but Kashtkar. Kindly advise
for future course of action."

(21) In 2008, Balkrishna reached Dronagiri village of Chamoli
district. Legend has it that when Lord Hanuman was unable to identify
Sanjeevani booti (a lifesaving herb), he picked the whole mountain and
brought it here. Balkrishna stayed there for one day and after
returning to Haridwar held a press conference and claimed that he has
found Sanjeevani and now people can live for hundreds of years. But
when he displayed the booti, it was found that those were used by the
locals on a daily basis. When his claim was ridiculed by local
villagers and scientists, Balkrishna maintained a stoic silence.

(22) A SIMILAR kind of story was repeated when Balkrishna claimed that
eight herbs used in chyawanprash had been discovered by him. Whereas
these are clearly listed, along with photographs, in the Forest
Department gazette published in 1960.

Politics and money:
-------------------
In response to a question from Congress General Secretary Digvijay
Singh, Ramdev divulged the turnover of his two trusts, Divya Yog
Mandir and Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust as Rs 1,100 crore. He also added
that he doesn't own even a single rupee worth of property in his name.

Patanjali Ayurved Limited, which was set up in 2006, donated Rs 10
lakh to the BJP during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. Ramdev's aide,
Acharya Balkrishna accepted that the company had also donated to the
Congress.

Land scam:
----------
The law enforced by the Congress government of Uttarakhand in 2004
restricts the purchase of land by non-residents of Uttarakhand to 500
sq m. For purchases beyond that, government permission was made
mandatory. But by then Ramdev had amassed 800 bighas. Thereafter, the
law was diluted with the addition of a clause, according to which, if
the government doesn't respond within three months, a person can
purchase any amount of land by filing an affidavit on a Rs 100 stamp
paper. In 2007, after the BJP government had come to power, the law
was made stricter and the 500 sq m limit was scaled down to 250 sq m.
But even this did not deter Ramdev, his trusts and companies from
purchasing 1,700
bigha in lieu of two orders issued by the government in July 2008. His
proposal was cleared for the purpose of conducting research and
manufacturing medicines. But Ramdev instead sought permissions to use
800 bighas of the abovementioned land to set up a technology park in
Mustafabad. Similarly, Ramdev bought 600 bigha land in Aurangabad,
just 20 km off Haridwar on which he built a Yogagram. Villagers claim
that this Yogagram has encroached upon 200 bighas of land owned by
gram sabhas. The village Thakur Ajab Singh Chauhan says that much of
the encroached land includes that owned by farmers and allotted to
Harijans. Access to the jungle has also been cut off as the pathway
leading to it runs through the encroached land. The Tehelka team
verified this through Revenue records of
Uttarakhand.

Acharya Balkrishna:
-------------------
His nationality is being questioned but while applying for a
passport, he claimed he is an Indian citizen and that his birthplace
is Haridwar. On 19 April 1998, the Bareilly passport office issued him
a passport (AS 245797). According to the documents accessed by
Tehelka, on 5 April 2005 the Local Intelligence Unit, Haridwar, held
Balkrishna responsible for attaining the passport and an arms license
for a pistol and a rifle (License no. 125/4 and 127/4) by presenting
incorrect information. On being asked for his opinion, the senior
prosecution officer, Bhopal Dutt Joshi sent a letter to LIU finding
Balkrishna guilty of violating Section 468, 471 of IPC and Section 12
- A of the Indian Passport Act.

According to a source, in 2006, Balkrishna suggested a draft Act to
the higher education department for setting up a private university.
The draft had several flaws but instead of addressing them, he
contacted the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, ND Tiwari directly and
got it cleared.

Minimum wage dispute:
---------------------
In May 2005, his brother and the manager of Divya Pharmacy fired 90
labourers who were demanding minimum wages. Later, others also joined
in. After 16 days of strike, a tripartite agreement was reached
between the Labour Commissioner (Haridwar), Divya Yog Mandir Trust
(Kankhal) and the labourers after which the Trust agreed to pay
minimum wages. But the very next day, they weren't allowed to enter
the factory premises, and 114 labourers were fired. The matter is
still pending with the Labour Commission.

Illegal land reclamation:
-------------------------
On a tip-off from the villagers, the Tehelka team on its visit to
Yogagram, found that the Ratmau River was being filled to reclaim
land. On a stretch of around half a kilometre in length, the river was
being filled for approximately 20 metres in width. The village Thakur,
Ajab Singh Chauhan claims that Ramdev diverted the river to his farms
during the last monsoon which rendered 500 bigha land infertile.

Ramdev's refusal to name a "corrupt minister":
----------------------------------------------
Ramdev caused an uproar in November last year when he said that a
minister in Uttarakhand had asked him for a Rs 2 crore bribe to get
some work done. He even dragged the Chief Minister, Bhuvan Chandra
Khanduri saying that when he complained to him, the CM simply said
that the minister should have asked for the money as funds for the
party. In response, the CM immediately called a press conference
announcing that Ramdev had never complained against the minister and
even challenged Ramdev to name the minister. He also warned that he
would file a case of defamation against Ramdev. But Ramdev
remained silent and did not disclose the minister's name. Uttarakhand
Kranti Dal's chairman, Trivendra Singh Pawar claims that Ramdev - who
started the drive against corruption- lost the fight on moral grounds
when Ramdev instead of naming the minister who demanded a Rs 2 crore
bribe, chose to remain silent.
