A Monday Missionary Moment Dear Daily Encounter Subscriber,
Bill Cousins, a longstanding ACTS Board Member and Director of ACTS former UK office, is going to India in October for four months. He is going with LIFE English Center, an American based mission organization to teach ESL (English as a Second Language) at their New Delhi school. Bill has had many years of experience teaching English and ESL at different High Schools and Adult Schools here in the USA and is well aualified for the task.
LIFE uses its language teaching program, which reaches many Indian Hindus, Moslem Afghanis and Pakistanis, as a means of developing relationships with students to introduce the Christian Gospel message at their point of need. There are weekly social and Bible meetings, as well as invitations to attend church on Sundays. This practical need approach leading to spiritual needs is very much in line with ACTS own outreach philosophy; that is, meeting people at their point of felt need.
Bill departs on October 11 for Delhi. Currently he is short $800 to cover his return airfares. LIFE English Center will provide free housing but he has to support himself for daily living expenses while there. Also he still has to pay for final inoculation shots, apply for his Visa, and purchase travel and health insurance which will incur another $410 in costs. A total of $1210 is still needed to meet his basic expenses.
Being a committed evangelical Christian, Bill will carry the banner for LIFE and ACTS International in a country of 1.2 billon people which desperately needs to hear that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through Him we can know God the Father, and have the assurance of eternal life.
