Dear urvashi,
| Click here to save your food |
So why would anyone want to add genes of some bacteria to our food? The government actually plans to create a Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI) which will allow these foods on our plates. Both of us love our food and we don’t want anyone to mess with it.
On September 6, one of us (Rocky) will be there to witness Greenpeace make the World’s Biggest GM Free Baingan Bharta. The Bharta represents all those people who have asked the Prime Minister to save our food. We have signed this petition against the BRAI bill and made a contribution to the bharta. Now it’s your turn.

In all our travels we have seen the passion we Indians have for our food. This food we love so much might not be the same again. We have this chance to save our food and should make the most of it.
Greenpeace and several other civil society groups have been opposing genetic modification of our food. All of us saw what the public support did to the movement against corruption. This time it is our food which needs to be saved from corruption.
So if you are in Delhi join us at Dilli Haat opposite INA market on Tuesday, September 6, 11 am to 1.00 pm. If you are not in Delhi then just help make this bharta bigger! Lets make our world a better place by being there and remember what we always say, “make food, not war.”

Thanks a billion!
