| November 3, 2011 Dear Members, Welcome to another MyBindi Newsletter. I am back from Vegas where my session on "Inbound Marketing and Lead Generation" was very well received. I am being asked to speak at a lot of events lately and on a variety of topics and, invariably, each speaking engagement allows me to draw on my experience as the CEO of MyBindi.com. This evening, I have been invited once more to speak at the TiE Institute. Tonight, I speak about " Building your Personal Brand". There is no charge to attend the event but pre-registration is required. Simply, send me an email and I will add you to the guest list. I hope to see you there. The lessons I share at these speaking engagements are the ones I have learned from you - MyBindi's loyal and vibrant community. We're always eager to learn and experiment with new ideas and we're so fortunate that you're always there providing us with feedback and guidance. I mention this because we're working on a new project/initiative at MyBindi which may lead to the creation of or an alliance with a "Deal" site. Yes, you've seen them all and have likely used a few. MyBindi has access to a large list of vendors and many have approached us to broker deals with them which can be offered to our community - i.e. YOU! Your feedback will help us determine how best we can serve you. Thank you in advance! A few quick reminders: There are only 5 shows left to enjoy "Bharati - the Wonder that is India" which has received RAVE reviews!! Check out this review! Get your tickets here or send me a message to get discounted Dinner + Show Packages - available exclusively through MyBindi.com Until next week... | Bharati, the Wonder that is India, receives rave reviews after last week's opening performance at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. The Sony Centre was transformed into a festival marketplace in collaboration with MyBindi.com.
Thanks to a creative team who had a simple, true vision - to bring India to the stage - we are able to enjoy the variety of sound and colour and light brought before us and yet somehow leave knowing more about India than we did when we entered. The story is slight, as it should be in a fairy tale. A young Indian returns home to his native land after living in America with the symbolic mission of purifying the river Ganges. But before he can get very far in his task, he falls in love with Bharati, a radiant young woman who just might also happen to be the spirit of India. Dance number after number passes before your grateful eyes with new splashes of rainbow hues to delight us wherever we look. And the sheer sculpture of dozens of bodies performing the same energetic choreography fills us with a strange sort of elation that it's hard to put into words. When: On NOW to November 6, 2011 Where: Sony Centre for the Performing Arts Click HERE for tickets and more information.

| | What's New on BindiBlogs | There is a healthy way to have an argument regardless of who it is - your partner, relative or friend. The key lies in listening. Listening is even more important than talking. During a fight, one person may feel hurt, slighted, or rejected. You may want to bring up previous wrongs or hurts too. This turns into a blame game.
When you listen patiently, you are acknowledging the other person's feelings; then the argument will turn into a meaningful exchange and lead to a resolution. The intention is to resolve a conflict - not escalate it. Try to understand the other person's point of view instead of defending your own.
I had a small accident last month and ended up with a fracture on my foot. When you lose the use of one foot, you lose a lot of things. You lose the ability to walk, to move from one place to another, lose the ability to dress and bathe easily, to do chores at home. And you lose the ability to take care of your 18 month old daughter.
The reaction my situation evoked in my daughter Myrah was heart warming and thought-provoking at the same time. The day the event happened, I was in a lot of pain. I could see the anxiety on Myrah's face as she clung to her dad. In the days that followed immediately, as I sat home with a cast, and used crutches to walk around, it felt like she almost thought of me as a different person. Medical Insurance - Colombian Style I have two scars acquired during the two years I spent in Cali, Colombia between the ages of twenty-two and twenty-four. I was there on my first 'real job' - teaching English as a Second Language at the Centro Colombo-Americano. One of the scare is a twonie-sized circle above the ankle of my right leg that resulted from my jumping on the back of a motorcycle and scorching my leg on the exhaust pipe. The second scar is the result of a bizarre injury on my right hand and, given that I am right-handed, would have handicapped me for life but for a shot of luck, the kindness of strangers and amazing medical support. Man Asian literary prize announces longlist
The Tolstoys, Hugos and Eliots of today are to be found not in Europe but in Asia, according to the chair of directors of the Man Asian literary prize. Announcing the longlist for this year's $30,000 (£19,000) award for the best novel by an Asian writer, which ranges from Japan to India and Iran to South Korea, Professor David Parker from the Chinese University of Hong Kong said that "if we are looking for books of the epic scale and stature of the great European 19th-century novels, we must turn to Asia".
Pointing to the Man Asian longlist inclusion of both Haruki Murakami's "massive magnum opus" 1Q84 and Amitav Ghosh's ...

Bolay Boliyan Punjabi MC isn't the only one that's got you singing about Morni's. Peacock-inspired creations are everywhere! And if you are like me, you grew up in an era where everyone you knew had a vase full of peacock feathers somewhere in their house, probably next to their plastic covered sofa's, but hey - that's a whole other situation on its own. I'm glad to report that our feathered-friends are back and now with a fashion focus. This trend has been quite noticeable in wedding decor over the past few years, but it recently started creeping up in India exploding with shades of greens ... Click HERE to read more.

I wasn't born in Pakistan. Neither were my parents. I have no ties to the country, save for my love of its literature and music. And that's why its soil runs through my veins.
While many of my peers from Pakistan have grown up on the music of Junoon, I grew into its music. It was in university that I discovered how the timeless lyrics of Bulleh Shah could find their way through the riffs of Salman Ahmad's guitar, the exquisite pain in Ali Azmat's voice and the brilliant bass of Brian O'Connell. For it was Bulleh Shah who forced me to ask the question we all ask ourselves at one point in our lives, "Who am I?" Click HERE to read more.

Is Bollywood's King Khan a Threat to Tom Cruise?
When the producers of the latest Mission: Impossible sequel - "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" - announced they would release the movie in India a week earlier than in most other places, including the U.S. and the U.K., many couldn't figure out why, since Hollywood blockbusters rarely make their way abroad earlier than in their home markets.
