Dear urvashi,
Great news, we did it! I just met the Coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal and, along with one of the tiger mascots, gave him the petition signed by you. He has agreed to a meeting to discuss the details next week! Since he is listening to us, we do not need to send him a fax now.
The minister also expressed his concern for tigers and communities that will be affected by coal mining in the forests. Clearly, public pressure works! This is a small victory for all of us. Hopefully the next meeting with the minister will bring us a step closer to saving our forests.
Just in case you have not shown your support for forests yet, do it now! Join the movement to save the forests.
