Esperanza winner

Dear Urvashi,

Ask Minister Sharad Pawar to regulate industrial fishing in our seas

Illegal fishing is emptying our seas.

Prabhakaran, from Tamil Nadu, was speechless, when we told him that he has been selected to go on-board the Esperanza. An online activist like you, Prabha will be on the Greenpeace ship because he got almost 100 people to sign the petition supporting the seas.

You could still get to see the Greenpeace ship, but before that you need to support the oceans.

The Esperanza is here to stop environmental crimes at sea. Our seas are being exploited by illegal and destructive industrial fishing practices. The fish stock is fast depleting and so are traditional livelihoods dependent on fishing.

Over 17,000 people have already asked agriculture minister Sharad Pawar to act against these destructive fishing practices. More people will show more support for this demand.

You should ask Minister Sharad Pawar to regulate industrial fishing in the seas as the livelihood of millions depends on them.

Once you’ve signed, ask your friends to join you and support the oceans as well. The Esperanza will be in Chennai on March 02, 2012, and some of you might get to visit the ship at that time.

If 50 of your friends visit the page on your recommendation, then you’ll get a Greenpeace t-shirt. While you win all this, you’ll also help gather more support for protecting our seas.

So, sign the petition and start inviting your friends now!

Thanks a billion!
