About iCARE www.facebook.com/CAREinIndia
iCARE is a community of youth volunteers who believe that empowering women is the key to fighting poverty. They adopt the following steps
to create impact: Learn, Inform, Organise and Empower.
LEARN: In order to become true advocates against poverty, it is important to first know the facts. Volunteers join the online community and access useful information about poverty in India, CARE's interventions and lots more. They can also browse through photos and videos from the field and read blogs by fellow volunteers.
INFORM: Once they have the knowledge, they can begin to spread the word. They can involve others by sending out iCARE mailers and inviting friends and family to join the movement. They can also interact and network with iCARE volunteers from across India by participating in, and initiating discussions.
ORGANISE: Volunteers can create and manage their own iCARE Community group and host events in their school, college, or community. They can
share ideas and plans, and upload pictures of their iCARE event on the online platform. They can also attend events hosted by other iCARE volunteers.
EMPOWER: Few select volunteers will register to take up fundraising activities which will be initiated after training by CARE.
