India in the American Imagination Two Lectures Delivered at India International Center Delhi In 2005, I was invited by Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan to deliver two lectures on how USA imagines India, the myths it has about India, and how its academic, media and political systems approach India with certain assumptions. Both lectures were followed by lively Q&A. In the audience there were several dignitaries including two of India's foreign secretaries, Amartya Sen and various others. Some of the controversies generated continued echoing for a considerable time thereafter. Click to watch: Lecture 1:Where is India in the Eagle’s Eye?
