"Surely He [Jesus] has borne our griefs / And carried our sorrows / Yet we esteemed Him stricken / Smitten by God, and afflicted. / But He was wounded for our transgressions / He was bruised for our iniquities / The chastisement for our peace was upon Him / And by His stripes we are healed. / All we like sheep have gone astray / We have turned, every one, to his own way / And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:4-6, NKJV). "But the angel answered and said to the women [Mary Magdalene and the other Mary], 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you'" (Matthew 28:5-7, NKJV). Gratefully in Christ Richard (Dick) and Joy Innes ACTS International PO Box 73545 San Clemente, California 92673-0119 U.S.A. NOTE: If you have never received Jesus as your Savior and received God's forgiveness and his gift of eternal life, please see God's Invitation at: http://www.goodnewsfor.com/peace/invitation.php. 1. See 1 Cor. 15:14-19. 2. According to historical evidence, Jesus arose from death on the third day following his excruciating painful death by crucifixion. He was seen by the women who visited his tomb and found it empty, also by his disciples, and by more than 500 other witnesses (1 Corinthians 15:5-8). Christ's resurrection was also recorded by Josephus, the Jewish historian (who lived at the time of the first Christians), in his Antiquities. Josephus was a Jew writing to satisfy the Romans, so his report of Christ's resurrection wouldn't have pleased the Romans at all. He would not have included it had he not believed it to be true. 3. See Mark 16:15. | | | | | NOTE: You are receiving this recurring mailing because you subscribed on one of our web sites, or requested by e-mail or letter to be subscribed, responded to an advertisement on ArcaMax.com to be subscribed, or confirmed your subscription after recording your response on one of our web sites. | | | Published by: ACTS International P.O.
