As a result of my visits and talks in India, several interesting initiatives have emerged. In one of the more promising ones, Prof. Manindra Thakur of JNU (Political Science) suggested that we join hands to develop social sciences from an Indian civilizational perspective, replacing the colonial paradigms that pervade the field today. The project was kicked off in Delhi with a full-day seminar involving roughly 25 important scholars. An edited volume is being planned by this group, along with further activities.
