I do not fear sacrificing my life

Hi urvashi,

"I don't fear sacrificing my life."

This is what Kripanath, a villager in Mahan has to say about saving the Mahan forest. Daily, Kripanath and other villagers are being faced with intimidation and death threats. What's even more scandalous is that their signatures have been forged to show approval for Essar's plans to axe the Mahan forest.

Join Junglistan to follow their story and help save Mahan.

Over a million Indians are part of Junglistan. Each one of them loves forests and is getting active to save Mahan. Mahan, a beautiful forest in Madhya Pradesh is under threat from Essar who want to destroy it for their profit. Five lakh trees, endangered wildlife and thousands of people are at risk in Mahan. Only the power of the crowd can stop this and we need you to be a part of it.

Demand that Essar quit Mahan.

People from villages in and around Mahan have come together as Mahan Sangharsh Samiti (MSS) to protect forests and land from coal mining. These people stand to lose their homes - and we all stand to lose our forests. MSS is standing strong against Essar's plans. Facing death threats and sleepless nights to save a forest.
You can help save their homes - and our country’s forests.
