Pakistan Institute of Learning and Living (PILL) is organizing training workshop on "Fundamentals of Bio-Statistics and SPSS"

OBJECTIVE OF TRAINING:

The course will guide you through the fundamentals of using SPSS, and is structured in a logical way to provide effective training in the four stages of a typical data analysis process – data input and definition, data modification, data analysis and data presentation

Section A

1. What is Data? / Data classification

2. Data and its graphic presentation

3. Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median, Mode)

4. Measures of Spread (Variance , Standard Deviation,)

5. Normal Distribution.

Section B

1. What is SPSS & Why we use it?

2. Design a SPSS file (Variable view, Data view)

3. Data Entry in SPSS file

4. Frequencies (numbers and percentages)

5. Cross Tabulation

Chief Facilitator:

Prof. Farhat Jafri – MBBS, MPH, C. Clinical Trials (London)

Workshop will be conducted by Prof. Farhat Jafri, Head Department of Community Health Sciences, Karachi Medical & Dental College. Apart from being the senior academician in a medical college, he is also the senior research associate at Pakistan Institute of Learning & Living-Pakistan.

He is the reviewer for the peer reviewed journals and has been the part of many health research projects of international repute. He has been supervising the academic research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate level since 15 years and has converted them into original research articles.

He got 7 years of experience in working on SPSS Software. He is coordinating all the hospital and community based major projects related to Mother & Child health.

His major working is Data Analyzing, Data Management by using SPSS Software.
