Dear Subscriber,
International Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), in collaboration with War Child Holland and UNICEF, is organizing an essay competition to share knowledge and increase awareness of education in emergencies, as well as to provide an opportunity for people around the world to share their thoughts and ideas about what education means to them in times of crisis.
Children, youth and adults are invited to submit their stories about what Education in Emergencies means to them and Why is it Important. The idea of this competition is to give children and adults the opportunity to write about their thoughts and experiences on education in situations of crisis, in particular what education means to them in such contexts.
Essays can be written in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish.
The age ranges and respective word limits are as follows:
- 6-12 years - 150 words;
- 13-17 years - 500 words; and
- 18+ years - 1,000 words.
