Workshop on Fundamentals of Cognitive Behavior Therapy





Pakistan Institute of Learning and Living (PILL) is organizing training workshop on "Fundamentals of Cognitive Behavior Therapy"

 

OBJECTIVE OF TRAINING:

 

Participants will learn basic principles of cognitive behavior therapy how to conceptualize patient and structure CBT session, establish the therapeutic relationship, and use effective cognitive and behavioral strategies to motivate patients to complete homework, modify their maladaptive thinking and behavior, and solve problems on their own

TRAINING WILL INCLUDE:

 

 --> Introduction and History of CBT  --> Why Cognitive Behavior Therapy  --> The CBT Model  --> Case Conceptualization  --> Identifying Negative thought pattern (Role Play)  --> Change Negative thought Pattern

 

Facilitator:

 

Dr. Sofiya Saeed – MBBS, Dip CBT, Certified CBT Therapist (Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre), Certified EMDR Practitioner (University of Birmingham).

 

She has been associated with the field of Psychiatry for the last 12 years. She has many publications on her account, as well as culturally adapting CBT Manuals. Her recent publication "A multicentre randomised controlled trial of a culturally sensitive CBT based self- help manual for psychosis in Pakistan" which she has co –authored is first publication of CBT and Psychosis in South Asia. She has been delivering lectures and training students in CBT throughout Pakistan. She is former General Secretary of PACT and Co- chairperson of FIRMHS.

 

Ms. Hina Fayyaz – M.Phil Scholar, Research Associate - PILL


Ms Hina Fayyaz is an experienced CBT therapist. She has actively participated in a number of trials on the use of culturally adapted psychological interventions in areas such as depression, self harm and psychosis. She is trained in five area's model of Cognitive Behavior Therapy under the supervision of UK CBT therapist.
