Most of the Hindi media promote Urdu, Arabic, and Farsi and English words in Hindi while proper Hindi words are available. For example when earthquake occurred in Nepal, every media used the word Zalzala instead of Bhokump. Everybody could easily understand Bhukump as Bho is earth and kump is shivering. Similarly everybody was using word Manzar while showing destruction instead of Hindi word Dhrishya. In Hindi many English words are used when better and appropriate Hindi words are available. Moreover all the time English abbreviations are used in Hindi while English readers would not understand those abbreviations if not properly explained.
Popularising Urdu in Bhaarat with Hindu money
Hindi is one of the sweetest languages in this world and next to Sanskrit and many of Mother India's regional languages like Gujarati & Kannad... truthfully originates and belongs to the Indian nation. To be to both sides of the fence, Urdu has its beauty as well but the language is in all reality a mixture of Persian (Farsi from Iran) & of course, the universal language of Islam... Arabic.
Yes there are many Muslims living in India but with respect... the British did devise the terms "Hindustan" & "Hindustani" for a reason. All of us should live with one another in respect and harmony but with the understanding that India is a great, diverse and tolerant nation built on the love taught through all the great Hindu scriptures and philosophers. Hindi has always been our great national language which has stood proudly since well before the Mughals decided to come and turn things completely upside down.
All of us who are truly patriotic Indians and those of us who were born outside but remain truly proud to have Indian roots flowing through us, MUST do our level best to not only preserve but give rebirth and revitalization to the truly beautiful pure (shudh) Hindi that is truly eroding to the mix-language of Hindustani which is what I consider to be our South Asian version of the USA's "Spanglish" that combines Spanish with English or even the Caribbean's patois which combines English with the regional creole dialects spoken in each respective island.
Media plays a big hand not individuals --- HINDII can be promoted by media, Indian govt. and individuals --- if it is not promoted by MEDIA, GOVT. then INDIVIDUALS cannot do it ---
Urdu may be a beautiful language, but its beauty is like the beauty of Mata Hari or a Vishkanya, charming in looks but deadly in effect. True to its origin as the language that evolved as a result of Muslim aggressors or invading hordes trying to interact with the local populace, it is still more than anything else the language of Islamic aggression in India.
For eighty long years, Urdu remained the official language practically in the whole of North and North-West India. But it could not strike roots except among Muslims of the North and of course in Hyderabad. The males among the majority community did learn Urdu, as its teaching was compulsory in government schools in the north during British rule, but the women folk who did not seek employment and were confined to homes, generally learnt Hindi.
Women folk had no use for Urdu. Thus, except among some Muslim homes in North and Hyderabad, Urdu remained a language outside the Indian homes. Less than 50% Muslims own Urdu as their mother tongue.
Muslims complain that Urdu is being neglected in its place of birth. It is true that Urdu was evolved in India, but it never struck roots among the majority of the Indians and for all practical purposes remained; first a language foisted on the people by the invaders and later by the British rulers.
It is true that Urdu is not the religious language of the Muslims. Their religious language is Arabic. The Muslim League identifying itself with foreign Muslim aggressors espoused Urdu as a distinct language of Muslims. Throughout the pre-partition period, the Muslims regarded Urdu as their language and as such for justifying their demand for a separate homeland for Muslims.
Urdu was declared and still is, the national language of Pakistan, not because it is spoken in any part of Pakistan, but because it is the language of Islamic aggression in India and Pakistan is fruit of that aggression.
After a discreet silence of decades, Urdu has started raising its head in India. The alleged lack of government support to it is cited as a case of discrimination against Muslims.
There is no opposition to Urdu per se in India. Urdu has its admirers among majority community across the country. Muslims are free to study it anywhere in India. The Indian government provides facilities for its learning in schools throughout India.
Urdu language is a lethal language in nature. Bangladeshis were wise enough to understand the true nature of Urdu language rose against this language and threw it away as a colonial yoke. The Bangla opposition to Urdu was not religious - it was linguist and cultural.
Even in Pakistan, Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchistanis and Pathans have started perceiving it as a threat to their age old traditions and culture. This is one reason why there is no love lost between Pakistan's proper indigenous people and Urdu speaking mohajirs or migrants from India.
Urdu, though born and developed in India, has not been able to mix in the Indian cultural stream. For that reason it remains an alien language though it was born in India.
In Bharat, Urdu needs to be assimilated with Hindi by adopting of the Devanagari script, ridding it of high flown Persian and Arabic words and cleansing it by replacing its foreign similes, metaphors and traditions with Bhaaratiya one.
Urdu language played a very big role in partition of Bhaarat.
Parents should teach their children pure Hindi as media is presenting rotten Hindi. Or Parents should send their children to such schools where pure Hindi and Sanskrit are taught.

To bestow the supreme position to English, which it had under alien/foreign rule is the characteristic of mental slavery, and from the point of view the world is blot on our national pride. Further he said with conviction -----" Do not worry, no matter how much artificial oxygen is given to English, it is not going to survive for long. Because it has lost its main source of support.

The name Urdu is of Turkish origin, meaning an army or a tent. The language evolved during the centuries of Mogul rule in India. Aside from practically doubling the vocabulary of Hindi through Hindustani (as French did to English), Urdu has added much to Indic poetry, especially of the romantic kind. When one uses phrases like meherbani (please) and tashreef rakhiya (place your honor: please have a seat), one is using Urdu words [8].

In one verse they say Mazhab nahin sikhata aapas mein bair rakhna
and in other verse, they ask for Islamic State.
Compare and contrast a handful of Urdu papers and others, you can visualise who is leading in venomous outbursts!

Today, we are on an issue not generally talked about or discussed in any circle. But, a little ground knowledge of the role the Urdu press has been playing, will convince everyone, be he or she belongs to any community, that it has been fostering falsehood and creates communalism when no such scope exists.
Since this is our first mail on the subject, a few things need to be clarified in the beginning. Average Muslims believe that Urdu is a foreign language, of the Muslims and for the Muslim only. That Urdu is, in fact an Indian language is not known to the vast majority of people in the country. As a matter fact, there used to be some members of the majority community were great Urdu writers, especially those who once stayed in West Punjab.
As a matter fact, the government has helped develop this mis- perception by, among other things, replacing Sanskrit-based hourly AIR bulletins by more Urdu-issued version. And, these bulletins are now routinely read by Muslim employees only.
In this background, it requires no knowledge of atomic science to understand that the average Muslims take the information catered by the Urdu press as specific messages for mass communication among the Muslims and as gospel truth. Herein lies the rub, the tremendous mischief potential of the Urdu press.
With whatever ground knowledge is available to former government employees like yours truly, it can be said without any fear of being contradicted that at times this channel is misused by foreign elements as well to misguide the average Muslims. Evidence is available on this.
Let us in this background, note that an excellent overview/survey of the activities of the Urdu press in the country is made available to us every fortnight by an academic body, namely, the India Policy Foundation (www.indiapolicyfoundation.org). We take this opportunity to share with all our friends and well-wishers the "Summary" of the March 16-31 issue of this fortnightly publication brought out by the IPF. While you may like to read the full one-page long Summary (attached), we produce below some parts of it:
· Some of the Urdu newspapers in the country are trying to break harmony in the country. They are looking for a chance to incite communal violence. Recently a campaign was unleashed against such leaders when RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and some other leaders had made statements that everyone living in India is a Hindu because their DNA is the same. Minority community is being instigated against Hindus by using this statement of Shri Bhagwat with a foolish allegation that the Sangh leaders are destroying peace and unity of the country. The first controversy was not yet subsided when these people got another opportunity to run a mischievous campaign against Hindu organisations when Shri Bhagwat spoke about the truth of Christian missionary Mother Teresa that her intention behind serving people was to convert them to Christianity. Utilizing this opportunity very well, Urdu newspapers tried to instigate Christians against Hindus. However, weekly Nai Dunia accepted it covertly that whatever Bhagwatji said was based on truths.
· BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy was also in the line of fire of the Urdu newspapers. He too expressed the truth that mosque is not a religious place and it is like any other building. He argued that this was the reason that in countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, mosques were demolished for laying roads and expansion of holy Kaba. Urdu newspapers caused ruckus about this statement of Swamy and demanded his arrest for causing communalism and hurting sentiments of minorities.
Friends, this will give you an idea of what all mischief or damage this section of the Urdu Press can cause to the average Muslim psyche. As a matter of fact, apart from what the Centre ought to do, it is a very fit case for every State governments to create a cell for monitoring the Urdu press regularly. That will provide a very healthy guideline for timely action in forestalling more serious events and also to identify individuals with mischievous potential for the future. Well, this has to be planned very systematically and cannot be created just when wanted or within a short period of time.
Friends, a request now: Those of you are in position to help this process develop and gain root in every State, kindly do so in overall national interest, especially keeping in mind that the currently influential fundamentalist Islamists dominating the world developments will lose no time to exploit this excellent ready-made machinery/platform, ever available to be of assistance. 1) Notwithstanding the other facts or justifications, it is for certain that Urdu is a foreign language. Every Hindu language (Indian language) is directly derived from Samskrutam; whereas Urdu has no such connection. Urdu is bastard child of Arabic and some Hindu language (during Islamic rule).
2) As far as great Urdu writers, especially those who once stayed in West Punjab are concerned; there are, for that matter; some great English writers among Hindus for example R K Narayan & Mulkraj Anand etc. That doesn't make English a Hindu (Indian) language.
3) Most important thing is why does a person starts learning Urdu, kicking away his own mother tongue once he becomes a Muslim ? (Muslims of Southern Bharat were totally ignorant of Urdu until some 30 - 35 years ago. But now they speak Urdu - it is altogether a different issue, that the 'Urdu' spoken by southerners does not sound like Urdu. It sounds silly and stupid)

It is a fact that Urdu media which is mostly accessed by the educated and semi-educated Muslims has a mischief potentiality as discussed in your mail as it was identified with Muslim identity in British India for the then Muslim politics. Unfortunately there has been no proper mechanism in secular India to monitor the Urdu press and as such any institution monitoring it is a welcome move. I would like to suggest that any Urdu knowing Patriot may write a small review of Muslim media in our web site regularly.
It may be mentioned that Urdu with a sixty percent vocabulary of Persian and Arabic synthesized with Khadi Boli (Hindi, Sindhi, Punjabi, Braj Bhasa and Rajasthani was born as a lingua franca for the interaction of the soldiers of Muslim rulers with the natives but it was not allowed to develop in the linguistic and literary tradition of this land as happened with previous invaders like the Huns, Kushans and others. It was written exclusively in Arabic script which created major hindrance in making it a language of masses. Gradually it was identified as the language of the Muslims. Thus, despite the fact that Urdu was born in India but due to its separatist character, non-Muslims except those in the court of the Muslim rulers took it as a foreign language. I discussed a paper - Urdu Movement in my book published in 2008. If desired this paper which is reproduced below may be uploaded in our website.
Friends, it is indeed an excellent suggestion if some Urdu knowing Patriot could please write a small review of this Muslim medium in our website (c/o Shri Rajiv Upadhyay)
