DIPLOMA IN DIABETES EDUCATION

Diabetes Educator is one of the key members of the diabetes management team. There is a universal consensus that diabetes education is the back bone of diabetes management and for providing effective diabetes education to patient's appropriate training of trainers is essential.


BIDE has been offering diploma in diabetes education since 2008 and on the basis of its commitment and services in this area has been recognized by IDF as designated centre for diabetes education for the Eastern Mediterranean Region.



Diploma in Diabetes Education is a one year full time course that includes nine months internship. The curriculum of the course is based in International Curriculum for Diabetes Health professional Education designed by International Diabetes Federation (IDF). It encompasses all necessary educational requirements related to diabetes and its management. After completing this course the trained educator would be capable to conduct one to one or group educational sessions in a Diabetes unit/clinic under the supervision of a Diabetologist and/or senior dietitian. A excellent and attractive profession just in one year.


Diploma will be awarded by BAQAI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY.....


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION IN THIS COURSE IS:

  1. Candidate should preferably have Bachelors degree (B.Sc /B.A, B.com or equivalent).
  2. Students with the subject of food and nutrition, pharmacy, physiology and those have a Diploma in nursing will be preferred.
  3. Person with diabetes and Diabetes Carers would be specially considered.
  4. Age 18-35 years.
  5. The selection of candidates would be based on communication skills, personal qualities, insight, interest and commitment to work.
  6. The final selection will strictly be based on Aptitude test and Interview.


 Admissions are open and course will be started from November 02, 2015.
