Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in a letter to President of Philippines Benigno S. Aquino III expressed serious concern over the killing of radio broadcaster Elvis Ordaniza inside his house by an unidentified assailant on 19 February 2016 in Zamboangadel Sur, southern Philippines.

Pemra working transparently, in best interest of public
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has noticed that certain individuals and quarters are using its name to meet their own vested interests.Pemra resolves that it is not and would not involve in any illegal, non-transparent and behind-the-scene activities regarding media or media persons, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

Private TV broadcasts to be suspended in Punjab if tax not revoked: Cable operators
LAHORE: Pakistan Cable Operator Association has announced to suspend three-hour transmission of all private channels from Thursday (tomorrow) till a week to protest against tax imposed by Punjab Revenue Authority.  Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club Tuesday, the head of all Pakistan Cable Operator Association, Captain Jabbar (retd) said the transmission of all TV channels other than PTV would remain suspended from 7 pm till 10 pm from Thursday for a week.

PESHAWAR: In a bid to help older adults and retired government servants, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information (RTI) Commission has directed government departments to share details of their retired employees in a monthly report.

PESHAWAR: The top internet search engine Google.Com enlists Pashto one of the many world languages. Now any text of the languages available in Google.Com search engine translation mode could be found being translated in Pashto script.

Deadline approaching: UN fellowship for journalists from developing countries

Journalists ages 22 to 35 from several developing countries and countries in transition can apply for a fellowship. The Reham Al-Farra (RAF) Memorial Journalists Fellowship Program, established by the United Nations, provides journalists with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the work of the United Nations in New York. It is also an opportunity to meet journalists from other countries and exchange ideas with U.N. communication professionals.
