Sindh Board of Revenue will Issue Genuine Property Certificates to Fight Forgery
Sindh Board of Revenue (BOR) will now provide property sale certificates, printed by Security Printing Press of Pakistan.
Rizwan Memon, senior member of BOR, made the announcement following Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah's approval. The approved design will replace all other property documentation from 1st December, 2016.
This innovative method of handling property information will ensure there is no corruption, fraud and illegal dealing of the land dubbed as "qabza mafia", – senior BOR official
This will not only help the government net more revenue but also "eradicate forgery and illegal encroachments of government and public properties," he added.
The official notification suggests that the initiative will bring about a change in terms of transparency in the system. It will also help in reducing the user complaints regarding illegal and bogus property dealings, as it will provide a standardized format.
All the sale documents and certificates which currently exist will be considered null and void by 1st December, which have been issued under the Section 7 of Sindh Land Revenue Act 1967.
Moreover, printed registers will now be issued by Provincial Record Cell to the Mukhtiarkars in the same manner as Village Forms and Record of Rights registers are being issued by Sindh High court in the constitutional petition.
The official letter added,
"The Mukhtuiarkar concerned shall send the photostat copies of Sale Certificates along with its counterfoil for scanning and data indexing at Provincial Record Cell, Board of Revenue Sindh, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) shall ensure maintenance of the relevant registers and its proper utilization on monthly basis and submit the report latest by fifth day of every month to the Provincial Record Cell in the prescribed format and Sub-Registrars shall accept only the prescribed Sale Certificates from December 1, and on wards."
