Dr. Satyanarayan Das, head of Jiva Institute in Vrindavan, is one of the foremost exponents of Vaishnav philosophy and practice today. What I find remarkable in him is that he is both a guru ("babaji" as his disciples call him), and an academic scholar of considerable repute. His specialty is the teacings of Jiva Goswami, and he is continuing that lineage today. I enjoy such dialogues with masters who are unabashed and transparent about addressing the issues raised, incluidng some "controversial" ones I raised in our discusisons. The editors divided our discussions into 4 parts: 1) History & Contributions of the Jiva Goswami Tradition: Click 2) Can Dharmic & Abrahamic traditions be reconciled? Click 3) Indian spiritual traditions demand discipline, rigor & integrity: Click 4) Provocative speculation: Are many Hindus unfit for Hinduism? What might be their future? Click |
