Join us for the Annual gala on 7th July in London and also for the fun filled week end on 30th June in peak district

Dear friends,

I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support helping us to bring this work to this stage, which could not have been possible otherwise. To celebrate and share the joy of success which has been possible with your help only, we cordially invite you to join us for the Annual Gala for 2012 on 7th July in honour of outstanding volunteers of the year, as we do every year. We shall honour some of such volunteers this year too on 7th July. Please join us for the evening with all friends and family. There are no charges. There will be a lot to every ones taste and interest. Venue details and how to reach there will be sent soon to everyone interested to join. Please let us know for the accommodation, if you need any help. Please write to me (gwalior.hospital@care4free.net) or to Keval (kevalbharadia@hotmail.com), organiser for this year's gala. Any contributions in kind or cash or sponsors for the event are welcome. 100% of funds raised will go to provide for the children in Snehalaya. We are also looking for participants for making the evening entertaining and joyful. Please let us know if you or any of your friends and family could help us during the evening in any way. Thanks for your support and helping us to organise.

Also at the end of June on 30th June 2012, the gates of Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire swing open as small charities come together for The Challenge, a day that mixes fundraising and family fun to benefit small charities that support communities' right across the UK. Gwalior Childrens Charity (Help Children of India) are using this opportunity to ask our volunteers/supporters to enter to raise money helping us to provide for children in India. The Challenge is a fun run/walk along 4km or 10km courses in Peak District with all the scenic natural beauty. This year, the FSI Challenge is part of a whole weekend of activities and entertainment. You can bring a picnic and drinks for relaxing after the race and, best of all; you can camp overnight in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall on Saturday the 30th June. You will then be able to attend the Thornbridge Hall Garden Party on Sunday the 1st of July – a day of fun filled activities for the whole family to enjoy!  If you don't fancy the drive to Thornbridge on the Saturday you can also Camp on Friday the 29th of June, so really making an action filled weekend!

If you will like to run and raise funds to provide for our children in India, please ask me for the registration form. Thanks to the FSI there is no registration fee, so all funds you raise go straight helping to provide for disabled and destitute children in Snehalaya, meaning the home with love in Hindi. Please do not hesitate to call me or write to me for any questions or further information. I have registered myself to walk/run with my 4 year old grandson Aaryan on 30th June, here is the link to sponsor us for this challenge https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/bksharma1 Please do join and enjoy the fun filled week end in Peak District and sponsor us with as much you can. Thanks for your support.

Hoping for an early reply. Hope to see you all on the day, more the merrier. For any reasons if you are not able to join us, you can still contribute to provide for these children in India. All donations are tax exempted as per rules. Please send your cheque made to "Gwalior Childrens Charity" or please donate on line through secure link on our web site www.helpchildrenofindia.org

As you know Snehalaya meaning the Home with Love in Hindi, a project of  Gwalior Childrens Charity of UK (formerly known as Gwalior Childrens Hospital Charity having started as a Childrens Hospital in 1998 but has grown into Snehalaya since with much more than only Childrens Hospital, hence the change of name) in association with Gwalior Hospital and Education Charitable Trust of India, is an Unique place for community living in India, generally considered as an Orphanage (we prefer to call it a care home rather) for disabled and destitute children, homeless women and the aged with a school (Special need as well main stream school) and health centre on site. It has all facilities for education and health care for children living there happily in a pollution free environment as a family as well that for Naturo-therapy, Yoga, Meditation, Physiotherapy, multi-sensory room, Hydrotherapy spread out in area of 25 Acres of land with its own Gardens, Orchards, farms, play & Sports fields and much more. There is a cow shed (Gaushala) also with a herd of 16 animals as well a bird house. There are 62 children there at present and we aim to make it to accommodate 200 children when completed.  Our main stream school started in July 2011 with 77 children, mostly girls from surrounding villages. We are hoping that the number of children will increase to nearly 300 by July this year.

We work for intigrated development in surrounding villages and slums there to include hygiene, sanitation, vaccination, safe drinking water, nutrition, maternal & child care, health education, awareness & treatment as well advise for income generation to the people there on their door steps. As per our education for light programme, we provide solar lights to the children to help their education and benefit families too. Please visit us at your convenience and see for yourself.

We welcome volunteers including students and trainees from all walks of life to help us for any or all of these projects either from their own place or on floor in Gwalior, India. If interested or want more information, just write to me. Visit our web site for details of ongoing work www.helpchildrenofindia.org You can meet us on face book too www.facebook.com/helpchildrenofindia
