Question Airtel

Dear urvashi,

Click here to leave your questions concerning this campaign
For a long time now, I have been asking you to ask Bharti Airtel to Switch off Diesel. Most of you must have already signed the petition. Our calls and messages are contributing to climate change because of the dirty energy that powers them.

The telecom sector burns millions of liters of diesel to power network towers. It uses diesel at a subsidised price and the subsidy is not even meant for them. As a result, the governement losses Rs 2,600 crore every year. Bharti Airtel is a market leader and controls the largest number of mobile towers. It can make a big difference by switching to clean energy.

I am sure you have often wondered, why Bharti Airtel or how reliable is clean energy? These and many such questions have been raised time and again. I have been involved with this campaign from the start and will be happy to answer all your questions.

As one of the most active supporters you can interact with me at the live chat tomorrow, July 29, 2011 between 4PM and 5PM. You can also leave your questions here:

I am waiting to hear all your questions and opinions on this campaign. Hope to see you on Friday.

Thanks a billion!
