Today we are living in an amazing age. In spite of all the dastardly acts of deception, fraud, evil and terrorism—we still live in a day of incredible opportunities—and we need to take the fullest possible advantage of some of these.
For instance, when Jesus was in Israel 2,000 years ago, he told his followers that if they believed in him, they would do even greater works than he had done after he went returned to heaven (John 14:12).
How could anyone do greater works than Jesus had done? Here's one suggestion. Jesus told his followers that they were to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone, everywhere (Mark 16:15).
Never has this been as possible as it is today. We just need an Acts 20:20 (perfect) vision as the Apostle Paul had. He talked about how he taught both publicly and from house to house because he was determined to reach as many people as possible with the message of Jesus Christ.
So what can we do "greater" than what Jesus and the Apostle Paul did? With an Acts 20:20 vision—going house to house via e-Mail and the Internet—we can reach as many people with the message of Jesus Christ in one week (or even in one day) what would have taken Paul and Jesus' disciples years to do.
For example, here in ACTS International it took 30 years to distribute 40 million pieces of printed gospel literature. But today, via e-Mail and the Internet we are sending the message of Jesus Christ to over 400,000 Daily Encounter subscribers every week day of the year. This means we are sending out two million Daily Encounters every week—totaling over 104 million a year—at a fraction of a fraction of the cost to reach this many people just a few years ago!
Even more encouraging is that every day of the year we are receiving commitment to Christ decision/responses from somewhere in the world. To date this year, we have received 1,847 decisions from 96 countries that we know about!
Even more exciting is the fact that Jesus also said that when the gospel is preached/proclaimed in all the world, then would the end come; that is, Jesus Christ would return for all his true followers (Matthew 24:14).
Today, with all the modern means of communication, the gospel is speeding to the ends of the earth as never before in all of human history.
I believe that God has given our generation the most incredible means of communication ever in order to reach the world with God's message of hope and salvation in preparation for the return of Jesus Christ to earth to take all his true followers to be with him in heaven forever. And that day is getting nearer all the time.
We couldn't be living in a more exciting time for having a part in what God is doing in the world today. And we invite you to also have a share in what God is doing in the world today by standing with us in earnest prayer and financial support.
If every Daily Encounter subscriber would just send five dollars—or even one dollar—not only would ACTS outreach ministry be financed for the rest of this year, but we would be able to add badly needed staff and thereby reach mega thousands more people very day with the Good News message of Jesus Christ.
Our need is urgent. Because of the economic situation, we have lost many regular supporters and our reserves are almost depleted. We haven't been able to pay salaries since the end of May, and we do not want to have to cut back on our aggressive advertising (which is costing $2,500 every month), as this is how we are reaching so many people every single day all around the world.
Furthermore, the summer months are our leanest months of the year for giving, so will you, dear Daily Encounter subscriber, please help support this vital ministry and send just $5—or even $1—or whatever you feel directed to send? And will you please send your support today?
Also … a special request to every subscriber who lives in a free country … will you please include an extra dollar for a subscriber from a non-free country … there are several thousand of these subscribers.
